S'up y'all. My first post of 2009 will be this blog's life support system for the next few days, and then it will slip back into the limbo between life and death.

Anyway, if you have been reading the news, a certain inaugural regional youth-based sporting event will be held in Singapore in the seventh month of the Gregorian Calendar, and one of the events will be having preliminary matches from this Saturday. AND one of the matches will be held upon the hallowed astro-turfed grounds of the Victoria Junior College Football (welcome to England, bugger) Field.

The Land of a Thousand Smiles (and 63, 037, 247 unhappy to neutral faces - 2007 est.) versus Democratic People's Republic of Korea (aka the part of the Korean peninsula that is North of the DMZ)

Here's the proposition: There have been calls for a class outing. Anybody wants to go watch? You can also support your favourite political movement!

Hey everyone!

I just came back from my friend's house doing PW. And I played guitar hero for the first time, and it's extremely difficult! Hahaha. And I really really miss the gentlepeople, you're the best.

Anyway, regarding the STRINGS concert this coming Saturday (16 May). So far I think me, Yasmin, Adeeb, Gabriel, Timo, and Asyraf going..and some of the harmoc girls. (And Gra, now that your swiss trip is cancelled…no excuse…) hehe.

We'll be going for dinner at PP (for the harmockers) before the concert and maybe a movie before that at 3-ish? I've got 4 free vouchers and am willing to treat people :D what do you think?

We had a chat with our juniors today. JTS this Thursday has been called off, and will be held at a later date. For convenience.

Mr Yang has agreed tojoin us for our first evening. We are still not sure about Ms Farah but she might come. With something.

Class fund is near-broke. And we are falling short for our expected expenditure. So here's the thing. Everyone has to pay an extra $2. So bring that.

The few people who have not made the initial payment of $15 please bring $17 instead. Bring exact change please.

Besides this, we recommend that you bring at least $20 in case we need to spend on other things.

The class chalet is in four days people!

Okay so there are a few things we need to settle.

1. Food
We will need to settle our barbecue(first night), breakfast and lunch on the second day, and breakfast on the third day. Barbecue will be settled by the comm. Except we might want the lemongrass brushes again. For that extra magic. For breakfast I'll bring loaves of white bread and some nutella. Ideas!?!? So anyways, here are some things we need. Please volunteer to bring the stuff below. PLEASE.

- Bottles of drinks
- Cups for the drinks x 150 (Perhaps a permanent marker if you want to label)
- Stuff to put on bread for breakfast (butter, jam, fish, chocolate, cream, whatever)
- 3-in-1 Milo or Milo and stuff you use to make Milo.
- Lemongrass for the magic in our barbecue.
- Random Snacks (The more the merrier. Can be ones you can replace breakfast with)

It's better if more people bring the stuff so that we can bring lesser amounts each and in case there's a lot, there's more to eat. So please put your name on the tagboard and volunteer to bring!

2. STJTS
Not sure if the new IP ones are coming but we will be there for dinner at their chalet place in Pasir Ris. We will probably have to cab there four-by-four (splitting the cost is better). We do this unless we can rent bikes there and come back in time to return them. (and btw, it's not gn be a short ride to Pasir Ris)

3. Activities and Entertainment
Of course this is the main part of the stay there. There are lots of things we can and can't do. Just bring the things you have that we can use to entertain ourselves. Here are some suggestions.

- TV game consoles
- Taboo
- Twister
- Ball games
- Other Board Games
- Cards and Card Games
- DVDs (there's a DVD Player, apparently)
- wheels, cans, ropes, whatever.

Should we have a gift exchange? Like last year?

Sorry Adeeb, it would seem that that was not the last post. My apologies for spoiling your fun. Maybe you can have the honour of being the first to post for 2009, which will probably be something along the lines of "Happy New Year 07v13"

Anyway, just to add on to what Adeeb has said about the class chalet, I'll be presenting to you a few options of how to get there.

Firstly, the place is officially known as NSRCC, or National Service Resort & Country Club. The place is extremely remote, and there it is not exactly very accesible if you are planning to get there by public transport. The 2 nearest bus stops are about a 30 - 40 min walk away (if you walk at my pace) and the nearest train station (Tanah Merah) is even further.

As you can see it is very remote. I strongly recommend that you get your parents to send you there, and pick you up when we are done. If that is not possible, your next best option is to get there by taxi. The website link I have provided shows the way to get there by ECP.

If you have a bicycle, you can cycle there. The simplest way is to cycle from school towards Changi. If you really suck at directions, and don't even know where Changi is, ride in the direction of the initial part of the cross-country road. Just keep riding. Once you pass by the National Sailing Centre, you are almost there, though I would recommend taking the path closer to the sea. If you are confident and know where exactly NSRCC is, just make sure you know where the nearest underpass is so that you can pass the ECP expressway if its necessary.

If you have to take public transport, then there are only 2 ways. The first way is to take a bus to Upp East Coast Terminal by service 13, 43, 45, 48, 506 and 853C. Then you'll have to walk out the small gate and walk past Bedok Camp. The path will eventually take a sharp turn left, and then you will to keep on walking, until you get to the end, where there is an underpass to the other side. Go through the underpass, and then turn left. And keep walking that direction. Again, I recommend taking the path closer to the sea.

The second way should only be used if you have a lot of time on your hands. You can take Bus 36 towards Changi, which will then 'loop' at the airport. I say 'loop', because it will stop for a while at the Terminal 2 bus stop while the bus-driver takes a break. Once it loops, drop off at the bus stop after you pass by the National Sailing Centre. It should be the second stop after you leave Terminal 2. Then keep walking towards Changi (again).

If any of you are planning to take a public bus transport there, please inform me about it if you think you will have trouble getting there on your own.

As for STJTS, or JTS, or whatever they are planning on, there are only 2 reasonable ways to get out of there. (From the latest I have heard from Yong Wei, they are planning a lunch and a dinner, the crazy rich bastards, but I will check with them again) We either rent a few bicycles and cycle all the way to Pasir Ris Aloha, or we call taxis to bring us there. Cycling is cheap, but we have to return the bikes before the shop closes. Cabbing is quick and convenient, but damn expensive. Especially now that the surcharge is $3, plus booking fees (you have to book, there is no way to hail a cab from that god forsaken place).

Greetings to the people of this extraordinary class.

This is probably the last post of 2008.

I'd like to post this in light of the recent standstill of our website. Since my last post, nothing much has been happening. So this is just a post for the sake of a post.

Um please check your emails for Mr Teo's email about vSPARKS. It's really important you read it immediately. There's a survey you need to do as well.

Anyways, next week is our class chalet and preparation for the occassion has not started. For starters, the place we're residing is the SAFRA Chalet at Changi, which is quite ulu from what i remember. So it's a two-night affair, so bring sufficient supplies of whatever you need to survive. The first night will be our class barbecue at the place. The second night however, we have to somehow get to Pasir Ris for our JTS sponsored by our juniors. Which is probably a barbecue as well. Details can be retrieved from our juniors.

We will probably be having a gift exchange during the stay at Changi, so bring a gift. Details will be made public at a later date. Meanwhile, save up some cash. For the stay, please bring some entertainment. Please state on the tagboard, what you can bring and what you can contribute, so we can make arrangements where appropriate.

Oh and hopefully everyone paid the full amount for the chalet. Whatever the case, do look forward to it, because I am. Again, tag whatever things you can bring, or if you have suggestions.

VivoCity will be hosting a free fireworks extravaganza choreographed by award-winning French fireworks specialists, Féérie, on Saturday 29th of November at 9.15 PM. Its to celebrate their 2nd Anniversary. The display will not be that long, apparently around 6 min. Christmas decorations, including a giant Christmas Tree will also be there!

We should have dinner as a class and then go watch the fireworks! It'll be really cool and something new that we've never done before. What do you guys think? Please tell us if you can make it!

So it's probably at Aranda, and the dates we set are six and seven January, which are Tuesday and Wednesday. It's a one night stand, so it would be cheaper. From Incredible India!

Greetings fellow mortals. We come from India in peace (Wan Qing gives peace sign and Gwen laughs. Asyraf stones, Lucas watches The Prestige, and Umar sleeps with Louiis three storeys above the rest).

We're blogging on Wan Qing's laptop now at the Hotel Godwin (that's Godric Gryffindor's great great great grandson) and Asyraf is super sleepy after four days of Incredible Indiaaah! Today was great, everyone discovered that they loved voldie and we took a domestic flight from Delhi to Mumbai and visited the amazing American Express Call Centre. And we all wore V13 tees, spreading the glory of our class far and wide... "We got people trippin" exclaims Mrs. Gwendo Marvolo Cullen.

Oh, and before we forget, Asyraf's luggage lost its wheels on the domestic flight. Consequently, Asyraf's luggage bag was replaced by a bigger, better, brand new President bag which Asyraf received with open arms. It was not green.

Yesterday, all our troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they're here to stay, oh we believe in yesterday. Because... we took a train ride to the awesome Agra and visited one of the seven wonders of the world... the spectacular TAJ MAHAL! Gwen laughs at you for not Taj-ing the Taj. But we know Wadee has plenty of other things to Taj. Asyraf was absolutely not responsible for these horrendous puns. An unnamed teacher (Ms Rachel Teo) started them.

Ok, we've to rest now, it's 1.15am here in Mumbai, India. We shall retreat to our respective sanctuaries because we're going to freaking BOLLYWOOD TOMORROW. HELL YEAH SUCKERS. Oh by the way, Wan Qing was by some distance, the biggest and reigning asshole in our ongoing game of ASSHOLE TAITI. Asyraf is The King whose asshole is Wan Qing. Lucas is just too busy being his queen, and he loves Asyraf's asshole. Gwen, no one bothers to speak about as she is a mere toilet cleaner. Meanwhile, Umar is still sleeping with Louiis.

Lukas sucks. He declares his love for slytherin and voldie. By the way, Asyraf's bag IS slytherin green.

We are having a class outing on Deepavali this Monday and everyone should come. Because we are watching High School Musical 3! The movie starts at 12.45pm at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard. TOKYO (Reuters) - A bald, naked man who said he was a British tourist went swimming in the moat of Japan's Imperial Palace on Tuesday, climbing the palace wall, throwing rocks and splashing water at police before being taken into custody.

Television footage showed the tall man getting out of the water at one point, chasing police with a rock and a plastic construction site pole.

He then went back to the murky water and swam across to the other side of the moat, climbing up the 8-metre (9-yard) stone wall of the palace.

He was caught by two policemen, after a chase media said lasted for an hour and a half.

"I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing," an unidentified man at the scene told TV Tokyo. "He must be a bit crazy."

Television showed passers-by gathering around the moat and watching the chase, giggling and taking photos on mobile phones.

Police said it was unclear what his motives were, although media said he had dropped a bag in the water.

The man, around 40 years old, first said he was Spanish but later said he was a Briton living in Spain, police said.

"We are checking on his mental condition now," a police spokesman said. The man was later released.

The palace, in the heart of Tokyo and home to Japan's emperor and empress, is surrounded by 12 moats running 7 km (4 miles) in all.

Alright, so we've found a good chalet place thats cheap!.
However, only those of HomeTeamNS, Social, JOM & SAFRA members can apply to book- so me and Adeeb can't book as we don't have dads who went to NS etc...

If your father or anyone you know who has one of the above memberships could you please please volunteer to book?
NOTE: do not book it- just inform me if you can. Also the booking is cheaper for HomeTeamNS members.

The chalet will probably be from 17-21 November, for 2 days and 1 night. We'll have a barbecue!! (Which Adeeb will kindly organize.) Check your emails for more details on the chalet etc.

Hello people,

As the CA2 marks will be needed soon, we have decided to move the Statistics Quiz to an earlier date. Instead of Thursday 14 August, it is now going to be on Tuesday, 12 August, during your Maths period.

If you are absent for some valid reason on that Tuesday, please see your Maths tutor and take the quiz immediately when you are back. If you take it any later, your marks may be too late to be included.

Class Chalet

Hello!
So the class com is starting to plan for the chalet now.
If we have the chalet, the only suitable week would really only be from the 17th to 21st of November, as people would be going to India right after the prom, and people would have O levels right before that.

I have heard some wants for a 2 night 3 days chalet, but if you want this, you'd have to be willing to pay around 50 per person.
Also, I don't know where you guys would want to book- Costa Sands? Aloha (Loyang/Changi)? Does anyone have any memberships etc? Please let me know.

Yup, so please reply to this email (or if you're reading this from the blog, reply to Lucas) with the following information:
1) Whether you want 2 days 1 night chalet or 3 days 2 night chalet
2) Whether you would be able to sleepover (tentatively)
3) How much you're willing to pay MAX

Monday 915 - 1025 Go to L11 for your laboratory lesson. Bring your test-tubes and your worksheet from last week (there are 2 more pages to complete). The potions teacher is Ms Ng Shu Von. Please greet her and be nice. You will do QA on cations with her.

For Wed 1025 - 1135, please go to L11 again. Bring your test-tubes. You will do QA again on anions and gases with Ms Elinor Chia. Please be on your best behaviour.

Please be punctual for both your laboratory session.

The first part of this post is completely not concerned with the title of this post, but instead is concerned with what I had announced during the first part of the last part of today's curriculum proceedings. That, however, does not mean that this part is the last and only part of this post, by virtue of the fact that I have already informed you in the first part of the first part of this post, that this is the first part of the post, which implies the subsequence of parts. And now to the middle part of the first part of this post:

Here is to remind you that I need to collect your Science comprehension and essay. If you cannot remember what that comprehension contained, here's a few visual clues: It does not have a proper cover, just the Passage. The first page, at the top, should just say Passage A, and below is inscribed: "There is No God" - an interview with Peter Atkins.

The essay should be easy, since we have only written ONE Science essay for Language Arts so far. If you still cannot remember, the Science essay involved four delightfully tricky questions, one of them being '"It is not the business of Science to deal with ethical issues." Comment.'

Once you have found your comprehension and essay, please bring it to school BY FRIDAY. I will be collecting in the morning. And please do email or SMS (97374851) me your scores for both of them the day before, as it is required of me to arrange both sets of papers according to rank for our dear Principal's reference, hence it would be more efficient if I knew how to rank your papers beforehand. Rest assured that your scores will remain safe and secret with me, and I will delete any email or SMS that is concerned with your score once. collection is over.

IF you do not bring it by Friday, I'm afraid you'll have to hand it to Miss Ong the following day (Saturday) early in the morning (its IP2 PPT Meeting).

hello! omg helmsman week (indiaventure) is so fun!
you won't believe it!

we're having indian movie screenings today- its so awesome with all the bhangra dancing and the bollywood actors/tresses. oh and we're getting indian food catered for free as mr. boy's treat to us in the electives hub!!

and then we don't have to come to school on tuesday and thursday :)
and there's no work or projects!!

Alright- so class outing will be on Tuesday 3rd June.

Meet at 12pm at City Hall-
we will go for lunch/haagen dazs at Suntec,
then make our way to Kallang Leisure Park to decide what to do.

We'd be bowling/ice skating/watching a movie- so bring things like socks/gloves/jackets in case.

Also, we need to collect money for the class tee ASAP so that we have enough to pay the remaining fee upon collection.

Bring $17.70 for the class tee if you asked for your name to be on it, and $14.50 if you didn't want your name.

Hello v13!

Your dilligent secretary and log/welf reps have placed the orders for our class tee shirt! Unfortunately the red colour they have is hideous and unsightly. So we chose the other option, which is Navy Blue! The Tee shirts will be printing very soon. So we will have to send some people to collect them on the 11th June. If you're free then please volunteer your help! =)

A deposit has been paid (by dear Lucas). Which brings me to the next point, MONEY! :D So those who ordered personalised tees with names, you will pay $17.70. And those who did not want personalised tees will pay $14.50. Prices include GST. Please pay up as soon as possible or by term 3 week two. Or perhaps you can pay when we have our class outing.

A class outing has been planned! Next Tuesday, the 3rd of June, 12 noon. We will meet at City Hall for lunch and/or Haagen Dazs at Suntec.We will somehow make our way to Kallang Leisure Park, where we have the options of Bowling, Ice skating, or Movies! So remember to bring sufficient cash and do come hungry for a day of fun fun fun! (fun)

HELLO!

Some people have suggested laser shooting things. (You just shoot laser at other people) Apparently, it costs $35.00 per person. So i dont think many people would go. Unless you really do, then just tag and we'll see how many people are willing to go. But besides this, we still have Haagen Dazs vouchers to spend. So maybe on the same day.

Besides that, we need a date. Some are suggesting the 4th of June, which is next wednesday. If everyone is okay with it, i guess it will be on the 4th. Just tag the dates you wont be available on.

Okay just keep tagging and keep those suggestions coming. We have yet to confirm anything, but we will be planning the outing very soon.

Oh, and the T-shirt orders are gonna be sent in by this week. So do look out for updates on that. And please send in your size to Lucas asap!
